Walk Between the Lines

Stocky legs heave up the playing field.

White tipped angles pieced together

by dirty blotchy green skin.

The divide between victory

and defeat.

They compete

as the cubist tower

spills across the floor

and the lonely tree watches

Stocky legs hold up the playing field.

White tipped angles pieced together

by dirty blotchy green skin.

Empty on both sides.

The lonely tree

can’t compete.

It stands alone.

Stubby joints rusted red

in the ice blue sunlight.
